Sunday September 23,2012 will go down in my salsa history journal! I'm at the Germantown Pretzel Festival talking with my vendor friend Jack about salsa. He really doesn't like salsa much...of course that is until he tried my Sarah Sweet Salsa. The booth next to me were selling some really tasty homemade ice cream and I suggested to Jack that salsa can be used for more than just chips and salsa. I said I bet my Sarah Sweet Salsa would be amazing on their homemade vanilla ice cream. Yup I am so sure that the delicious sweet blend of organic spices will compliment vanilla ice cream. All day long we would talk about it and I kept saying it will be delicious, I just know it.. 30 minutes left in the festival I get a scoop of the delicious vanilla ice cream and bring a jar of my Sarah Sweet Salsa over to Jack with a spoon. He looked at me with a bit of apprehension but was a good sport and willing to try this new concoction. I poured the sauce(without the vegetables) on the ice cream.... let's just say he asked for more. Who knows what might be next in the ice cream isle at your local grocery store--- A Bit of a Bite Salsa ice cream condiment! 🙂
Spent the day working with some of my amazing friends at the Starving Artist Festival in Miamisburg, OH. I also met some really GREAT people and new A Bit of a Bite Salsa fans! I love meeting and talking to people and introducing them to my salsa. I know it's just salsa but it puts smiles on faces and sometimes even sweat on brows :). Lots of laughter, shared stories and even recipe exchanges! Check out my latest new recipe from Charleen B. I can't wait to try it. She said she was looking for something new to do with her salad and this is what she came up with. Take fresh spinach and mozzarella cheese cubed and mix it with A Bit of a Bite Salsa's Sarah Sweet. Oh my goodness that sounds wonderful! With the zucchini, cilantro, red onions, tomatoes and the perfect blend of organic spices in the Sarah Sweet Salsa then add in the cheese and spinach, what a sweet and savory salad! I shall be getting spinach next time I'm grocery shopping!
“Life is for loving and eating my salsa!” Peg
