I love America!

Tuesday, March 6th, 2012

OK – it is not any national holiday but I have been thinking about some things lately and our country comes to mind.  Now this has nothing to do with politics!  It has everything to do with the human spirit!  Last week while I was in the Celebrate Local Store at Easton in Columbus, OH it hit me like a ton of bricks – or should I say a ton of salsa jars.  icon smile I love America!   Anyway, I have had a few less than desirable days, we all get them.  As I was traveling (about 2 hours) to get to Celebrate Local to sample my salsa, the closer I was to the store the more I could feel the weight lifting from my shoulders and the sense of peace and joy began to take over.  I know I know it is just salsa (well A Bit of a Bite Salsa) but it is what happens because of the salsa that ignites me.

Having a store dedicated to local vendors is pure AMERICAN!  Supporting our community and our country – that’s America. Then there are the people behind the products – all have a dream, the American dream.  We are thriving no matter what we will continue to grow.  I love being a part of this movement to get back in balance with nature!  It is good for all of us, our health, our food system and our planet!

Most importantly it is the consumer that enters the doors of our store. I greet them with my heartfelt “Hi, come on over to sample my salsa”  and it is instantly a friend.  People are so wonderful! People are so supportive! People are so incredibly fun-loving.  Who’s having a bad day? Surely not me.                      YAY AMERICA!

Come on and sample some salsa :

Don’t Run Out of Salsa!

Saturday, January 28th, 2012

I recently met Kaye and she informed me that she should be the A Bit of a Bite Salsa spokes person! She loves my salsa and told me she is on weight loss program and has lost 97 pounds!  She looks great.  Why is she so excited…. because my salsa is a “legal” food for her and she can enjoy every drop without a worry.  PLUS you get a bonus because A Bit of a Bite Salsa has 2 grams of protein and 2 grams of fiber in every serving of 2 tablespoons.  That incredible – you just don’t see that in many other salsas.

Kaye purchased 5 jars!   Super Bowl Sunday is coming up, Valentine’s Day is just around the corner then Mardi Gras is here soon, followed by St. Patrick’s Day!  All good reasons not to run out of salsa.  So keep your shelves stocked because no matter what event comes your way salsa is always there to give you a great healthy snick snack or delightful meal.

My Salsa now at Health Foods Unlimited!

Sunday, October 23rd, 2011

10-23-11

For over 30 years Health Foods Unlimited has been serving “health nuts” like me in the Dayton Community.  I have been shopping there since we move here in 2002.  About a year ago when I decided to market my salsa, I would go into their store and look at the salsa section.  I literally would stand in the isle and envision my salsa jars on those shelves.   I think of A Bit of a Bite Salsa and what it stands for with all natural ingredients, selected produce, organic spices and made locally.  I am proud to be a part of this movement that is coming back into balance with our food system, our health and our planet. Health Foods Unlimited is locally owned and operated and supports the local farmers and people like me.

Given that you can guess my excitement when I tell you A BIT OF A BITE SALSA IS ON THEIR SHELVES AS OF TODAY!

So while you are shopping for all your healthy foods, vitamins, produce, soaps and other great stuff, PLEASE stop by the salsa isle and look at my salsa on the shelf and then buy some!

Free Range Egg and Chevre’

Tuesday, October 11th, 2011

So I was at A Greener You sampling out my salsa at the Farmers Market in Dayton, Ohio this past Saturday and met up with some of my salsa fan’s.  While talking to one particular Fan he told me he puts A Bit of a Bite Salsa on his eggs!  ME too!  So I told him about my egg and Chevre’ (goat Cheese) recipe and realized I need to share this with all of you!  It is so easy and delicious. If you are not a goat cheese fan then any soft white cheese will do. icon smile Free Range Egg and Chevre

Ingredients

1 Free Range Egg

1 Heaping Tablespoon of your favorite A Bit of a Bite Salsa

Chevre’ or any soft white cheese

1 slice of Ezekel bread (any bread will do I just really like Ezekel)

How do you make it

Saute’, scramble, poach or fry egg in a pan. Put bread in your toaster.  NOW put it all together!

First layer – the toast, then the Chevre’, then the salsa, then the hot egg on top, it melts the cheese and warms the salsa.

Then what do you do

Introduce your palette to a new sensation!   Enjoy!
